The food was exceptional—truly unlike anything I've ever tasted before. I've dined at numerous restaurants in Quebec and beyond, but “La Bouche Des Gouttes” was a standout experience. The portion sizes were perfectly balanced, a refreshing change from typical Quebec cuisine. Yes, the prices can be a bit on the higher side, but you truly get what you pay for. I indulged in cheesy bread as an appetizer, duck for my main course, and finished with a delightful custard and ice cream for dessert. I was honestly moved to tears by how delicious everything was, and I regretted having to leave so soon; if I were you, I would stay there forever. My mother had the lamb, which was also fantastic, served in a generous portion on a wooden board alongside extra vegetables. The atmosphere was wonderfully romantic, and I can't forget to mention breakfast. It was absolutely fabulous! I enjoyed ham drizzled with real maple syrup, porridge, eggs, and bread with jam. Normally, I skip breakfast, but I thoroughly relished this meal—it was so satisfying! Now, about the room. It was spacious and impeccably clean, with a breathtaking view of the river. Even the bathroom had a wonderful river view; I almost kept the blinds open because it was so picturesque. The bed was incredibly comfortable. At first, I was skeptical—I wondered how such a lightweight cover could keep me warm—but I was pleasantly surprised. I was so cozy that I didn't want to get out of bed! Lastly, Regis, the host, was fantastic. He is a wonderful cook and a genuinely warm person. His smile lights up the room, and once you get to know him, you’ll find he has a great sense of humor. If you need anything, he’s right there, ready to assist you in any way he can. He embodies all the traits of an excellent host—honesty, friendliness, and humor. P.S. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews; they’re not worth your time. Most of the complaints stem from misunderstandings, and I think those criticisms don’t truly reflect the quality of the experience. Regis runs the place largely on his own (with just a couple of cleaners and 1-2 staff members), so give him a chance and be patient. Take care!
Everything was perfect! Regis, the owner and chef, was professional, and his meals were exceptional—10/10. The rooms were nice and clean, and the beds were fabulous. I highly recommend L’Estampilles. You will love your stay!
We had the most wonderful meal here. Excellent service, excellent food. The best we’ve had in the Charlevoix and Quebec City. The restaurant has reopened after being closed last year because of Covid. Just a few minutes drive away from the crowds of the centre ville. We’re so glad we found it. Regis is an exceptional chef and host. Highly recommended!
