Bidra med feedbackThis is the worst sandwich shop in Bakersfield. They don't accept credit cards or ATM payments, although there is a machine in the lobby that charges an additional $1.50 for use. On top of that, the owner is too frugal to invest in a cash register. However, the most disappointing aspect of this place is the service—it's incredibly slow. If you have an hour and a half to waste on an overpriced sandwich and don't mind that neither the owner nor the employees seem to care about you as a customer, this might be the spot for you. Otherwise, I recommend opting for the stale egg salad sandwich at a local truck stop. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
1st time trying Sub Station. The inside was clean and the staff was very friendly. Subs can be ordered hot or cold. If you order the sub hot, be prepared to wait. I ordered the #1, which included Ham, Salami, and Pepperoni. It was good and hearty, just felt the meat portions were a little small. But, this won't keep me from coming back to try another style of sub.
While there may not be a Port O Subs, this place surpasses Subway in flavor. I really enjoy the finely chopped salad; it pairs wonderfully with the oil and vinegar. I ordered the #4 with extra onions, and it was delicious!
Not bad. I'd rate this Jersey spot a 3.8. The service was friendly, and the meat seemed to be of good quality. The ingredients tasted fresh, but I have to say the bread was disappointing. Coming from Jersey, I know that everything begins with the roll, and the photos suggested it would be a classic Northeast roll. Instead, it felt more like an Olive Garden breadstick, and we all know that no self-respecting Italian would be caught dead in such a place.
Just a heads up, there's no salad bar here. The service was friendly, but they forgot my partner's salad when we ordered, and we ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for our food. When we got home, there was only a tiny bit of cheese in one corner of the sandwich. They put the salad on the sub before heating it, which resulted in a rather unpleasant, overheated salad flavor throughout. To remove the salad, I also had to get rid of the onions. The meat was a bit sparse and not very impressive. On the bright side, the sandwich itself was really good. We ordered item #1, and it was decent overall.
