The Village Inn Balboa Island

Service was slow. We were on the outdoor patio without lights. The wedge salad wasn’t as good as usual. The pulled pork sandwich was gods.

This is a pleasant family style bar and restaurant in a nice setting on Balboa Island. We had a nice meal (short ribs were excellent). The service was very attentive but slow. Atmosphere is casual.

Our reservation was for 11am, but I received a confirmation text for 12pm. The email they sent me was for 11am. They were able to accomodate. We were disappointed to find out that they no longer serve breakfast. We adapted and ordered the lunch items. The food was decent, but we all would have preferred to have brunch/breakfast items. Please bring that back.

Went for brunch. While not a huge brunch menu, still were good choices. Had the eggs Florentine. Very good Hollandaise and egg was poached correctly. Wife hade the waffles with fruit and they were as to be expected. Could’ve used a little more fruit. Also had the avocado toast which was good. And to top it off, the bottomless Mimosas.
