Bidra med feedbackWent for takeout. Needed something healthy, tasteful and filled. This place hit them all. I ordered the Red Snapper dinner that came with a diving sauce and two signature pages. First, Filet was big, definitely filling. Cooked for perfection, smoked in butter and spiced to the right. With a small amount of cut paprika and onions, only small enough to not exaggerate the dish. The spinach was drowned in a garlic butter soup. I could have swept in it and drank. Saute asparagus, tasted with the same garlic butter sauce. Both greens were boiled well, not spoiled. I'll visit again. I suggest people read it to do the same!
The food was great. Well cooked, seasoned, and nicely hot. I had the seafood fettuccine and my wife had the banger shrimp with two sides. The shrimp and salmon in the fettuccine were delish and had plenty flavor. Very filling and delicious with every bite. I think the sauce could've been thicker and a bit less oily but overall I would definitely get it again. Made a shrimp trade with the wife, and the banger shrimp was perfectly fried with a generous drizzle of that delicious sauce you'd expect. Just to be clear, all those shrimp weren't just jumbo in name like some places either. They were big as you'd buy to cook at home . For the sides we had the Trap Mac n cheese. Aptly called the Trap Mac for short, and it had lobster in it. Some of the best mac n cheese I've had. It tasted like it was home cooked by someone who knew their way around the kitchen. Other side was the red potato salad and it was ok to good. Some might really like it but compared to the other food, it definitely had less flavor (no relish or onions mixed in). Personally I took it home and added a bit of chipotle Mayo and it put it where it needed to be. Now the only real downside was that you don't get much of a warm welcome from the front service. I guess the expectation is everyone is getting takeout so not much of a need but it does make a difference. Overall all I'd recommend getting food here, but order ahead of time. The dinner menu is sit-down restaurant quality, but don't expect sit-down service (too small anyway). Eat a few bites there maybe, while it's really hot, but you'll get the most enjoyment eating it at home. The lunch menu is more to the level of the name suggests and is probably what I'd recommend if you were going a bit more regularly.
Great food. Great location. Usually a wait for food but it's worth it for the portion size and taste. So far I've had the Cajun seafood dish and the bang bang shrimp, I'll be back for the king crab and lobster tails.
If you're looking for a quick bite and have a craving for delicious fish, I highly recommend trying The Fish Trap! From the moment we walked in, it was a 5-star experience. Angie welcomed us with a warm and friendly attitude, which set a positive tone. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu and found the prices to be very reasonable. We ordered our food to go, and the wait time was less than the 20 minutes we were told. Once we drove home, we enjoyed the perfectly cooked catfish—every dish was fantastic! Located in Baldwin, the restaurant's location is ideal. The food, seasoning, service, atmosphere, and overall experience were outstanding! Next time, I can’t wait to try the shrimp and grits that I've heard so much about!
I ordered the Ruck Shrimps along with the Hummer Mac and Cheese (even though mac and cheese is one of my least favorite foods), and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The crabs were especially delicious. The customer service was outstanding—Winter, the cashier, was a friendly and well-mannered young lady. I’ll definitely be back soon!
