Highlander's Grill Tavern - BANNER ELK

It was late on Sunday. Bartenders were kind and helped me decide on a duck. She recommended the cheese steak, burgers and fish chips. I have fish and chips. It did not come with a tartaric acid sauce at first, but fortunately they had some in the kitchen. It was really good.

We've been coming here since it was Nick's, and still love everything about the restaurant. We came in tonight for dinner, and it reminded me that I really needed to hop on here and leave a review. First off, keep Emma as long as you can! She is the sweetest waitress, and took such good care of our family. Our food always comes out nice and hot and is always delish (get the pretzel for an app; it does not disappoint! . Tonight we were asked to provide feedback to the chef on our burger (specifically to see if it was matched to our request for medium-cooked and not only was that extremely professional, but yes, it was cooked perfectly. We were checked on throughout our meal, and we always feel welcome when we enter the restaurant. I'm not sure if it was one of the owners, but he immediately came into the dining area were we were seated, and turned on the TVs for our children. It was so sweet. We love this place, and will always rave about it to our family and friends. :

My visit to this establishment was like a bad episode of Bar Rescue! We were seated next to a bar full of drunk individuals running around the bar using foul language, screaming, and making references to their anatomy. Several of whom kept moving into back room in the facility so we can only assume they were employees owners. This was a lot to continue for proximately 45 minutes all while young children and elderly people were being seated nearby. We ordered our food at 6:15 PM and after not receiving our food or 45 minutes we asked our server who was also working the bar when we would receive our food. She asked us to be patient and promised we would have food soon. After waiting patiently for an hour and a half, we approached several staff to try and find out where our food was. After almost 2 hours we were told that our order had never been put in and that it would have to be entered into the system. As we attempted to pay for our soda and tea in an effort to leave, we were told that we would be provided food in about three minutes. Not believing a well done burger could be made in three minutes we promptly left. It?s clearly evident that this restaurant lacks any sort of structure or leadership. The place was dirty and the floors of the bathroom were urine soaked! We went to the McDonald?s across the street for better service.

Ate there tonight. Food was very good. The Philly steak was actually TOO HOT TO EAT right away, which is saying something that never happens out!! My husband enjoyed it very much. I opted for the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was not as hot, but cooked perfectly. The ONLY reason for 4*s is because the music was way too loud. There were about 6 customers in the whole place (7:00ish), but we had to shout to hear each other. Service was very prompt and friendly. Maybe we'll just eat outside next time. There's a very nice, covered eating area outside.

My family and I came in here and ordered a Reuben Sandwich, the chips with balsamic vinegar and feta cheese, the fish and chips with sweet corn nuggets, and omgosh, really good. The food all came out hot,. Everyone enjoyed our lunches. The ladies restroom was clean, the restaurant was overall clean, you can have a drink or eat and music boxes you can listen to. We decided to give it 5 stars. We will come back. Oh, and the waitress, she was great, informative about the items on the menu. She checked on us several times, even though she was busy that day.
