Bidra med feedbackIf you are considering going on is tour, GO!!!! If you are lucky enough, you will have Bill as your guide. He made the tour so much fun and was very knowledgeable of the area and had so many cool facts!! He even went out of his way to take a photo of us while kayaking! This tour was the most fun we had on our entire trip to Acadia and would go again 10x over. Thank you Bill!!
Bill was such a great guide! Patient and informative. You get your equipment at the shop then you all walk to the dock. Bill helped us get in the boats. Kayaking around the Porcupine Islands was a challenge and SO worth it. We saw a bald eagle and heard her babies in the nest.
Bill was an excellent guide. Even in the rain, we had a great adventure. Be ready for sore arms the next day if you aren't used to paddling, but it's worth it!!
The tour was really amazing. Our guide, who was named Carter, was very helpful and knowledgeable. The view was amazing and we just so happened to have wonderful weather. We even saw seals and porpoises. The customer service was very great. We actually made a mistake when we booked online and booked for the wrong day. We were devastated but the clerk helped us and got a tour on the day we actually needed it to be on! She was awesome! But the kayak that we had was slightly messed up, off balanced and not all pieces worked correctly. We were the only one in the group with issues with our kayak. But because of the issue we had with the kayak, it was higher labour than we anticipated, so for that I will take it down to 4 stars.
I went with my family last week and had an okay time. We did the 2.5 hour harbor tour. There was 11 people in our group, which seemed like too much. It took our group 20 minutes to load and 20 minutes to unload from the kayaks, and because there were so many people in the group, it was hard to get close to our guide and hear what she was saying while we were on the water. I did really like the kayaks they were very nice and comfortable, and included rudder pedals! That made it so much easier to steer, which was something I was worried about in a tandem kayak. They also gave us dry bags, which made it possible to bring my phone and take pictures. I really appreciated that. I was expecting to hear our guide give more information on history and wildlife but she seemed to be on her phone a lot. We did not see any wildlife. The most exciting thing that happened was seeing a cruise ship parked out on the water. When we returned from our trip, we had to wait for another kayaking group to get out onto the water, another 20 minute wait. Overall I would not recommend this tour it was not worth the money. Maybe the 4 hour tour includes more information on history/wildlife and sightseeing, or maybe they do smaller groups for those tours.
