The Local Italian - BARGO

Nella disperazione della ricerca di qualcosa da mangiare dopo le 8pm,troviamo questa pizzeria di fianco benzinaio. Il locale è vuoto ma entriamo per la fame anche se da italiani non ci piace mangiare italiano all estero... la pizza è buona e molto digeribile. Fatta secondo noi al tegamino ma buona. Il prezzo piu alto che in italia,ma buona per essere in Australia. Coca cola alla spina annacquata.

This charming restaurant when owned by the well known italian family who created it was exceptional. The food regardless of what you chose was outstanding. Unfortunately the restaurant is now under new ownership, with all new staff. I wish i could say the food was good or even o/k, but it wasn't. My wife had the veal special, and the veal was overcooked and tough also the dish looked like a train smash. My son had the chicken carbonara and hte chicken was overcooked and dry. This dish also looked like a train wreck. I had the lasanga and it was undercooked.It is true that this restaurant was always full on a saturday night, but not now. From what we experienced i don't believe that these owners will be there for long as no one would be happy with the food coming out of the kitchen. We will be going back to our usual italian Enzo at Camden.

My family and i came here and ordered some take away. We ordered two pizzas, a lasagna and a serve of gnocchi and it was the worst food I've ever tasted and I've eaten some pretty bad food over they years. The Gnocchi tasted like something from one of those lean cuisine or weight watchers microwave dinner boxes. Absolutely disgusting. The sauce lacked seasoning and tasted artificial. It definitely wasn't homemade (if it was, the chef who made it needs to learn how to cook). The lasagna had way too much cheese and the bolgnase sauce tasted like it was from a jar. The pizzas were stone cold, bland and with the bases soggy. I've worked in italian restaurants my whole life and I've never tasted anything so disgusting. I honestly don't know how this place rates so highly. Obviously the local clientele aren't hard to please. It was absolute garbage. I won't be returning as i don't like throwing my money in the bin.

On friday night we celebrated a family members birthday here and the service was exceptional. The staff could not do enough to make our night memorable . All the food which we had was of the highest quality and standard the pizzas were cooked to perfection and the kids meals were just perfect too ...... Well done

My favorite food is pizza & being from NYC which has amazing pizza & living in Melbourne, Australia, which has quite a number of amazing places to get wood-fired pizza, this place did not disappoint!Crust was delicious, light & perfectly cooked, sauce subtle & tasty & the fresh flor de latte & buffalo mozzarella & spicy salami were superb! We would have loved to try the pasta, but the large pizza was very filling.... Next time!
