Wimu Museo Del Vino A Barolo

Embarrassingly bad. Far too much space and effort devoted to bizarre art installations (e.g. flying metronomes) while relevant content about the history of wine, wine growing in the region, the science of wine and flavour, etc was either nonexistent or relegated to a few tedious text plaques. So disappointing. Such an interesting subject should have been dealt with in a really engaging way yet this museum seems to go out of its way to avoid doing that. Why??

Lot's of interactive displays to play with and learn about wine and life in Italy a few centuries ago

This place is weird, in a mostly good way. I expected something much more traditional, the exhibits are a little kooky, bus till fun. View from the upper terrace is worth the price of admission and there is a nice tasting room in the cellar.

This is NOT a museum about wine. It's a random collection of arty farty nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with wine. For example one of the rooms is filled with metronomes fitted with angel wings hanging from the ceiling (see photo). The most interesting rooms are the ones that are not part of the museum, where you can sometimes get a glimpse of how the castle used to look before it was destroyed by the museum.
