Bidra med feedbackIt's just the place to go after a heavy drinking night, but since then people are always working there in a funny mood and they always raise the prices without any reason what ever.
Good, is not a great place, but food is generous and good, super tasty, burger, frits, tasty. perfect for After Party
I was there yesterday and the food was cold, so it probably wasn't fresh, and although many people worked and only 4 tables were in use, I was still not sure. Someone stole my purse and they didn't see anything, the place isn't big, so I'm surprised they didn't see anything. The food is not worth it. Find much better places in Lima... DONT GO THERE
We were in the Barranco suburb of Lima for the day, and looking for a casual restaurant for a light midday meal. Probably the many restaurants visible from the Bridge of Sighs just down the ravine from the main square) would be busy on the weekend, but it was a Friday and we could not see anybody at all in any of them. On the main square, people were going into Rustica, but it would clearly be an extremely upscale and expensive experience. We already had a reservation at La 73 for dinner, and we didn 't want two major meals in the same day. Fortunately we spotted Mi Carcochita, just across the street. They were advertising a two course meal for 14 soles $5 $6 US), and there were people eating at several tables. The tables are plain solid wood, no tablecloths, but that was what we were looking for. Our waitress seated us and brought menus, although I had to ask for the lunch specials menu. There was a choice of about 6 starters, and 6 entrees. I chose a stuffed pepper rocoto relleno) and then a carne asado, which turned out to be a kind of beef schnitzel. The pepper was hotter than I expected, almost in jalapeno territory, and the filling was meat based. Excellent, even if I had to concentrate to stop from hiccupping my reaction to food over a certain level of spiciness). The cut of beef was thin, lightly coated in crumbs and fried. It was fine, but the best part was the freshly made french fries that came with it absolutely first rate. My wife was struggling with a gastro bug, but made a valiant effort and ordered a chicken sandwich off the regular menu. There was some discussion with the waitress about what to put in it, or accompany it, but we weren 't exactly sure as our spanish isn 't at that level. They agreed on guacamole, which ended up inside what turned out to be a huge shredded chicken burger. It was very hearty, and she could only manage about half of it. But when the waitress saw that she was happily munching on my french fries, she came over to ask if she wanted her own portion. I am pretty sure they would have been given at no charge, just like the two glasses each that we had of the house fruit nectar mostly peach, we thought). We turned down the offer of third glasses, even though it was delicious. I still couldn 't believe I was going to be charged only 14 soles for what I had, but that is what was on the bill. The chicken burger including fruit drinks) was about the same price. Altogether a terrific bargain, and I had only myself to blame if I wasn 't very hungry at dinner that evening!
We accidentally went to the area where we were hungry and didn't know where we were. We had Ceviche pescado and Lobster soup. Soup would have been hot. Everything was very delicious and fresh. It is a very typical Peruvian food well prepared.
