Bidra med feedbackLoved this restaurant. Recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint! Fabulous food which they describe as Mexican/Japanese/Basque fusion totally agree. We feasted on the most amazing fresh fish, steak sushi so sadly couldn’t manage any dessert. Next time. Close to Bilbao the airport. Coastal walks minutes away. Great staff atmosphere
OY. There 's this toxic masculine energy that even my husband noticed. The only woman who works there was really nice, but the rest were reluctantly friendly. Overall, this place is just confused . We stopped in for a drink and sitting in the garden is really nice. The restaurant itself has really great vibes, but it goes to waste with the air of pretension it gives with the menu and service. The menu is Mexican/Japanese (first red flag! , and one night, we wanted to walk somewhere and this was the closest spot. We weren 't too hungry, but we had the chips and queso at the bar. It was actually really good, so we opted to have dinner too. Once they made a reservation for us at the bar, we were seated in the 'white-tablecloth ' area. We stuck with the Mexican vibe, (we were warned about the seafood here! and ordered so-called, burritos . Our waiter did try to up-sell us, but that 's all we wanted. He disappeared and we could see him flexing to some local girls with whom chatted with the entire time we ate. His coworkers basically did the rest for him. The food was flat out awful. The burritos were laid a-top at pinch of microgreens and stuffed with stewed, chewy beef and vegetables. The tortillas were dry. It was the most over-priced and gnarly meal we had in a month of traveling Europe. We ordered desert when we finally peeled our waiter away from socializing. Considering all the amazing (affordable desserts we 'd had in Basque country, that was mediocre as well. In the meantime, we saw waiters walking around with torches to sear the sushi, or whatever the other menu was serving. It was just over the top and silly. It is really too bad because it 's a great location. We heard that it used to be a Mexican restaurant, but it had failed. Something as simple as margaritas, tacos and chips and salsa it truly what that spot should be for: Approachable and non-pretentious. Chill beach vibes would RULE. And people would STAY. I know that there are many amazing Mexican cooks/chefs who could make this spot amazing. Whatever it is now? It 's not worth it. And when we return to the area? I am not sure we 'd go back for that drink either.
We are staying in Sopelana returning to the UK soon. We checked the website of the Milagros before we went and it was open all day. We arrived at around 8.30pm and were told that dinner started at 9pm. Having chosen online l asked how to order. The barman said it would be better to have a table in the dining area which he would give us. We waited while other people were served close to us and at the tables set for dinner. We however were ignored and eventually left having decided there was no point trying at the bar again. We were glad to leave an unwelcoming restaurant which smelt of diesel.
