White Hart - Basingstoke and Deane

Good English pub, service was excellent and a great menu. steak was well cooked and with carefreeness, whispers are interesting and a good choice of wine and drinks. good for families and dog friendly. the journey worth it.

We have been here before and thought the food was OK. Not great but adequate. Today, a Tuesday lunchtime the food was pretty awful. Two chicken sandwiches and one roast beef and horseradish sandwich. White bread was stale on all sandwiches, beef stringy and chewy and chicken like ‘Sunday leftovers”, which are sure the beef was too.Also very average and we won’t be rushing back.

I had a main course of Lamb Burger, which was really tasty. I was part of a large group (all socially distanced and also on separate tables) and throughout the evening, I was very impressed with the great customer service.

There are a lot of pubs in the area and they're not too dissimilar, but the impressive part about the white hart is just how excellent excellent the customer experience is. I was served by a girl I think called millie, she was attentive, funny and downright lovely and it put a smile on my face, we need more people like her in the world. Will definitely come again just to be greeted like that again.

Absolutely great service from waitress. ended up speaking to her before she left. maisey made me feel very welcome at this pub, will definitely be returning with the family
