Bidra med feedbackEaten here on a last trip to Tasmania and Had the 3 uller Seafood Tower to share The most important disappointment was not Moreton Bay mistake, as described, was said that we could have a bit more of everything else ... Instead, we asked for oysters in place and had the beef as second stage (normal is the choice of beef or oysters for the second animal) Feedback do not charge a top dollar and promote products that you can not offer! The decor is a bit desolate probably serves mainly guests of the hotel and do not scream outwards business Seafood were very well cooked, as well as the beef. We were satisfied with the food we ate, Service good, though no direction where he got the self service salad and vegetables we thought it was not turned on Normally, I do not disturb myself with dessert, but it was a tasty plate and exchanged. Each article was spectacular! Dessert pushed the score
Joined a party of around 12 years last night to celebrate a birthday. The expectations were not high, based on previous evaluations and unfortunately concerns were justified. Those who had steak or lamb seemed to be the winners. A large Scottish ordered middle rare saw firmly. Unfortunately, those who ordered all seafood were largely disappointed. Everything was clearly frozen and then overcooked - no absolute disasters, but everything under the standard. With the success of the Hobart food scene at the moment there are so many better places to try it.
Liked the sound of the new menu but unfortunately it simply didn't deliver. Three of us ordered the crispy skin duck. Portion sizes varied significantly, shame the cooking time wasn't adjusted, the largest portion was well under. Worst of all, no crispy skin! Lentils were boring and the jus missing. The 12 hour lamb was fatty and tough. Not sure what was with the 6 cold peas and 3 cherry tomatoes, that hadn't been roasted! The char-grilled octopus was well under, tough and had no charring. Meals lack creative presentation, are expensive and we went home hungry :(
I think that the Salamanca Inn Beef and Seafood Grill is a hidden treasure. We were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our table. The chairs are so comfortable and we indulged in their recommended wine which was Tempranillo. It was delicious and went very well with our Crispy Skinned Duck ($33.00) and their signature Smoked Rib Eye Steak ($48.00) which were both cooked to perfection. If I had time to go back I would have chosen the Wagyu or 12 hour Lamb. There was a good range of choices available and we found the portions to be very adequate but if you have a good appetite they also offer well priced side dishes at $8.00 each. The entree prices range from $9.00 to $17.00 with a reasonable selection. We booked a later dinner time but had no pressure from staff to hurry our meal. In fact, they actually stopped to chat with us through our meal which was great.
I wasn't overly keen to visit this restaurant based on other reviews but some friends had invited us.I saw people had complained about the lighting and decor but I think they were being very harsh. The decor was what I would expect in a hotel restaurant and was nice enough. The service was good and the staff were very attentive. The head chef even went round some of the tables after service had slowed down to ask people including us how we enjoyed our meals. The food was good. We tried the prawns and quail ragu for entree. They were both pretty nice. For mains we had the whiting and wagyu eye fillet. Both our meals and sides were cooked very well. My steak was cooked perfectly. The desserts were toothsome and had classic elements with a bit of a modern twist.Overall it was a pleasant experience.
