Domaine De Fompeyre - Bazas

This was THE place to eat a few years ago, but it has lost its touch, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cold and badly decorated. The food is not great and not cheap.

Conservatory has good views out towards the cathedral. Very pleasant environment. Interesting menu beautifully presented. Service was fine and wine choice was ok, if a little overpriced. Recommend for a special occasion i.e. birthday

We had dinner my wife and I at the inside restaurant of Domaine de Fompeyre. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at L 'Orangeraie, we selected the 37 euros menu (see pictures) with glasses of Sauternes during the all dinner. As a starter, my wife had the 'Eggs and mushrooms ' called 'oeufs brouillés aux cèpes ' whereas I ordered the Gambas (big shrimps). Our main course was . As desert, I had a chocolat and pear home made cumble with Chantilly ice cream (see picture), my wife selected the strawberries with home made Chantilly cream called 'Aumonière fraises Chantilly ' (see picture), We really enjoyed this well cooked food of quality, also the waiter was really devoted. This restaurant has a view on the little village of Bazas with its beautiful Gothic cathedrale. Should you come for lunch, you can have access to the 2 swimming pools as there is an outdoor and an indoor one with SPA, hammam and jacuzzi. This is a strong recommendation and we will certainly come back ! (during rush periods, resrvation recommended).

Greeted by a sequoïa lay and magnificent and a magnificent building, we have had a delicious time with friends who came especially from royan and we ran to taste the famous bazas beef and we were not disappointed! it was remarkable as well as wine (moulis) without forgetting the staff and its extreme kindness and attention. We'll be back soon. In conclusion, a moment of great pleasure!
