Bidra med feedbackThis is for the restaurant and not for the hotel. Overall, it's pretty good. You will need reservations most days. Food is good quality but pricey. Sushi is excellent. Service is good and place is clean. Inside the restaurant is upscale but a little run down and dark. Also very noisy, especially if sitting on the side by the bar area. The outside bar is nice, but selections are a little limited. Overall, it's pretty good and worth the stop. Staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable.
An LBI favorite. Great menu and our server Katie was awesome!! Always consistent fairly priced..highly recommend.
It was lovely, but being seated in the bar area made conversation nearly impossible. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was very helpful. We will go back but will request the other dining room
My favorite meal on the island EVERY YEAR!! I even came here twice this visit! The Chilean sea bass is to die for! A little pricey, but what isn't these days? At least you're getting an amazing meal!
My party showed up for our reservation, which was originally made for 4 people and then was changed to 6. The system didn't update. The manager, who was checking us in, was confrontational, stating that I had reserved for 4 and I said yes and then, subsequently changed it to 6. I showed him my confirmation on my phone, to which he turned his computer around to show me his screen. He offered no resolution, nor did he say he couldn't accommodate us. He just kept repeating that I had reserved for 4. I was mortified in front of my guests, as he snapped at a busboy to change the table to 6. The restaurant was empty, except for a few tables. My special occasion was ruined. It had been my idea to bring my guests to the Engleside. I felt embarrassed, because I had raved about the restaurant, having visited many times before. Even after being treated so rudely, I didn't want to make a scene before we were seated. Our server was attentive and personable and the food was delicious. The cocktails were undrinkable. The owners of the Engelside Inn should reconsider who presents as the face of their business. This scouring, nasty man is not the person to welcome guests. It was apparent that he treated his staff in the same manner. My guests had reserved a date in the future for a huge family gathering, but now are looking for another venue. As we were exiting, the manager was not to be found. One of the gentleman in my party asked a bus boy where he was and he came forward. My friend set him straight on what he'd done. If my husband had, there really would have been a scene. A simple mistake, that could be simply rectified, became an opportunity for a paying customer to be disrespected and an evening ruined.
