Beacon Harbourside Restaurant

Empty restaurant yet hostess asked if we had reservations? Sat on the WET patio chairs asked to wipe it down, got a attitude, so we left.

The restaurant is associated with the Ramada wedding/conference room directly below. The quality of the wedding meal made sure we ate off site the next day. Beautiful view of Lake Ontario , and restaurant appeared much cleaner than the hotel and wedding reception room. The Sunday bunch looked plentiful but average .They do have a reasonable outdoor deck to enjoy a cold beer by the water.

I have been going to the Beacon for over a decade and can't believe that after all these years it still hit or miss! I keep coming back because I do love the view and years of mermories,but I'm thinking it may not worth the trouble anymore!This evening was such a miss! The waitress was flustered because it was busy! If you call maybe 15 tables between 3 servers busy! First off no soft drinks available except Diet coke?! I ordered a shrimp cocktail to start. I gagged on the last one because it was extremely fishy and slimy! Must of been an old one in the mix! Yuck..after a half hour of sitting there we asked if we could get the dinner rolls that usually come with entrees. The waitress said " I guess I could find you some"! what? She returned with 3 cold buns. ( usually nice hot rolls)...I used to order the filet, the last few times it's been a sub par cut of meat. So my husband and I ordered the prime rib, an 8oz

Spiste frokost her i forbindelse med opphold på hotellet som ligger vegg i vegg. Tross 60 rom på hotellet var vi de eneste som spiste frokost her samme morgen. Beliggenheten ved sjøen er nydelig, men lokalene har neppe blitt oppgradert de siste 20 årene. Synd, for dette kunne vært en super opplevelse om det hadde vært lagt ned litt jobb. Maten var grei og vi fikk hyppig påfyll med kaffe. Alt i alt ok, men ikke mer.

Paid CDN$18 for the breakfast buffet. The water mellon had a jelly-like consistency in the center; way too ripe, should have been discarded, not served. Eggs and meat offerings were lukewarm. A loaf of white bread was the only bread/pastry choice. No orange or other juice offered, just water. Wait staff spent their time behind the counter, not attending to the patrons.
