Bidra med feedbackAwful customer service experience. I called the restaurant to inquire about exchanging some olives my husband purchased the day before, per the owner's instructions. The olives were mushy and not of good quality. Unfortunately, the lady who assisted me was rude and claimed there was nothing wrong with the olives, blaming their texture on oil absorption. She refused to exchange or refund my purchase, contradicting the manager's initial agreement. Ultimately, I left without a resolution. I will not be returning to this establishment, as I also noticed expired items and instances of overcharging. Save your money and avoid this place.
I absolutely adore this place. The carne piccante pizza is hands down the best pizza I have ever tasted. You can tell it is made with love! The cheeses they use are also top-notch. I am a frequent customer and when I saw a negative review about 'The owner', I couldn't help but laugh. He is a wonderful person who is just trying to make a living in the post-Brexit world. Any of the Clivie brand wines they offer are exceptional. The staff is lovely and welcoming. Just be mindful of who you ask for a bulk discount. :)
We visited this restaurant looking to purchase some Italian products, but were disappointed to find that everything was past its expiration date. When I brought this up to the owner, he became very aggressive and started yelling at me, stating that he sets his own rules and can sell expired products in the UK. He insisted that it was the responsibility of the customer to check expiration dates before purchasing. I argued that not all products clearly indicated they were expired, and that the store was messy and disorganized. The owner's behavior frightened my daughter, who started crying because she thought he was going to hit me. This place is terrible, and I would not recommend visiting it, especially with children.
Visited A1 foods again go every 3 months as I live far, usually have a good experience, Carmine and the brothers are always friendly and polite, how ever the lady behind the cheese counter was rude and acted like she did not want to be there. When I asked for a certain cheese saying I couldn’t see it, she answered “it’s right in front of you “ in a very rude way, then weighed it and handed it to me without saying a word, her customer service skills are non existent. A polite how can I help? Or what would you like would have suffices.
We now use this place regularly, (monthly) they have everything Italian you need, I do get abit carried away
