Al's Plaice - Bedford

Since the change in ownership, the quality of the food has significantly declined to the point where it no longer tastes homemade. I suggest trying out different chip shops in Bedford to find the best one and then staying loyal to that one.

Having opted for fish and chips, we found that when we goy home the batter wasn't at all crispy, probably fried in stale cooking oil, shame as we thought it would be better.

I recently had the most delicious Haddock and chips delivered to my door through Just Eat. The meal was fantastic, with a light and fluffy batter that was perfect. I am currently recovering from a hernia operation last Saturday, so I couldn't go out. Thank you, Al's Plaice. - Tim

I had not returned to this restaurant since the lockdown, so this was my first visit back. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment - the chips were undercooked and the rest of the food lacked flavor. I tried to eat some of it but ended up throwing it out. The service was friendly, but it was not enough for me to consider returning to this restaurant again.

First lot of fish and chips since lockdown and it was poor, fish had no flavour and the chips were barely cooked, gutted!!
