We stumbled over this beautiful caffe during a day trip into the eastern townships. it is located on the main road in the picturesque small town bedford. the restaurant was filled with locals who is always a great sign! we sat on the terrace and the service was very friendly. her menu was surprisingly extensive. so many great decisions it took a while to decide. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious, filled with eggs, cheese, pepper and sausage. very generous portions with tasty local spiced potatoes. the presentation was also beautiful with a large selection of fresh fruits. the only reason why I didn't give this was a 5-star review because the coffee was in order, but nothing from the ordinary. we had the drip coffee that with the meal we will be definately back and next time I will order the latte as it looks as if they were well equipped for special coffee. this restaurant is a great fund for a country trip!
On a recent road trip from Burlington VT to Old Quebec City QC, we decided to take a back road through the small port of entry, Morses Line. We travelled for about an hour North through picture perfect farm country, making a stop in the...small town of Bedford, QC., with a population of under 3,000. By mid morning we were ready for a snack and cup of coffee. It was by chance that we found the Cafe Rouge. The owners are a young family who roast their own coffee, have a good pastry selection and provide great breakfast and lunch selections. The food and coffee were good but we would return just because of the gracious staff. In fact, on our return trip a week later, we did drive out of our way to have coffee and lunch with them again. It's worth driving out of the way to have coffee and a snack or meal with the nice young family at the Rouge Cafe.
