Bidra med feedbackAfter paying some 50 euros for some staples we decided to have a cup of coffee before a long way ahead. We wanted to order coffee at the bar counter. A very rude attendant beckoned for us to wait in a long line at the opposite counter. We ordered, always in Italian, two cups of long American-type coffee. We received a paper slip, which we had to show to the rude guy at the bar counter. Despite our wish to have long American coffee with milk, he made for us two perfectly small espressos. We took these tiny things back to the counter lady, who apologised for her mistake (she had put two espressos on the paper slip) but did not offer any refund. We explained her in Italian that we wanted to have two large cups of coffee with milk, which you can usually have anywhere in the world, including McDonalds or your home. She apparently understood and sold us two cups of long American coffee. We returned to the rude bar counter guy. This time he made for us two double espressos. We explained to him that it was not what we had ordered. He was unapologetic. He insisted that, in Italy, you cannot have coffee other than espresso. To avoid any further fuss, we expressed our disappointment and told 'arrivederci '. Then the rude guy decided to be ruder even more. He stopped us and made two triple espressos with no milk, adding a small cup of hot water. He rebuked us for not being conversant with Italian culture, without knowing that we have known and appreciated Italy, Italian culture and cuisine for many years. Unfortunately, had we drunk this coffee, someone would have had to call an ambulance because a small sip was enough to realize that the caffeine dose in this three+ espresso product was certainly lethal. We left all the six cups of coffee undrunk because they were unusable. We have been travelling throughout Italy, both North and South, for some 20 years. We have not met a worse petrol station or roadside bar in our lives. Please beware of this place. You pay some 15 euros and cannot even drink a decent coffee, let alone the rudeness and impudence of the staff.
I pulled into this device station at 1pm on 18.06.19 and experienced truly excellent service. I had been travelling over 5 days with my dog Cookie from the UK. I bought a coffee was promptly asked if I would like some water for Cookie which I accepted as it was very warm. I was served by operator 12477. I received very good prompt service indeed and with s smile. A genuine caring attitude. Thank you very much.
This is to thank the team for the cleaning of the toilets and the efficient service at the bar. We stop hhere every time we return to Torino. G&B Novelli, Geneva, Switzerland
