Goody's Soda Fountain Candy - Bend

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant! The staff member who assisted me was Bo, and he was incredibly friendly and helpful. Because of his outstanding service, I highly recommend visiting this place! In my opinion, the best ice cream flavor is definitely the Cookie Monster! You should definitely stop by and check it out!

The store has some adorable features, like a little movie theater that showcases every kind of movie theater candy you can imagine—it's simply fantastic. The bulk candy bins are fully stocked with a variety of international sweets, which is a treat since you don’t have to go out of your way to find them. I always let the kids choose a few different treats, and they never disappoint; there's always something new and sometimes even those nostalgic candies I remember from my own childhood when I was begging for sweets at their age. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by to pick up something. Places like this deserve to thrive—they're true gems!

If you find yourself in Bend, a trip to Goody's is essential. The kids definitely prefer the new candies over the antique options displayed in jars. We tried the root beer float and hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the root beer float was disappointing because the soda was at room temperature; I really wish it had been chilled or that they had added ice. However, the hot chocolate was quite enjoyable. The service was good, and the staff was pleasant, though they were pretty quiet. I thought I heard a baby crying in the back, which made it feel like a family-run business. The decor inside has a charming retro vibe. Although there aren’t many seats available, the nearby park would be a lovely place to relax on a nice day.

Goody's is a really great little ice cream and candy shop. They have a factory in town and make their own popcorn, ice cream and chocolates. The ice cream was very good, we tried a few flavors including the cookie monster (oreos, cookie dough in blue vanilla ice cream) which the kids loved. The brownie batter was excellent, better than other versions I've had. The oreo was good but could have used more oreos. The chocolate hazelnut was good as well. The popcorn options are quite fun and since they make it here in town it is fresh. We went with the oreo flavor and it was ridiculously addictive. I couldn't stop eating it. They coat the popcorn in a clear coating and some white chocolate and then coat it with real chunks of oreo. Man oh man. The chocolate options looked good but we didn't have room left for them. The staff were great, let us try as much as we wanted and told us all about the process for making the popcorn. We'll be back!

Really disappointed with my recent trip yesterday. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It tasted and had the consistency of old freezer ice cream. Ice crystals throughout and not creamy at all. I made a comment to the group I was with and the girls behind the counter herd me, and saw me throw it away. I've been going here for years but with all the new options in town it's time to go elsewhere.
