Bendigo Dumpling House

This could possibly be the worse place I have ever been to, the decor was old and dated, the hostess was quite visibly ill and the food was garbage. The prawn dumplings weren't fresh (my mistake I thought they may have been) and the scallop and cashews were terrible. My companion wanted to pay, although we only had a single mouthful, I was dumbfounded that they accepted payment for such a miserable looking meal.Be warned, stay away!

We have been to the dumpling house several times now and leave satisfied every time. Very nice food & pleasant staff.

Nice atmosphere. We shared a mixed vegetable stir-fry and a large plate of vegie dumplings with tasty dipping sauces. Such a great meal and only came to $20! The black fungi was a treat! (we thought it might've been seaweed!)

Order mixed. dumplings geasy. miss one entree. won't be here again. was very good but has declined over the last couple of visits

We chose this place because of good reviews on TripAdvisor, the restaurant was busy but we managed to get a table. We shared a serve of pan fried pork dumplings and they were delicious, but I'm sorry to say it was downhill from there. Sweet and sour chicken in batter had a sweet tasteless sauce on it and a table spoon of pineapple and capsicum. We also chose the chefs special of salt and pepper spicy pork ribs, umm this dish of battered strips of something came out with crispy fried garlic and small bits of rice noodles and ??? Something else over the top. I asked the waitress if this was the pork ribs? She was unsure but then said ohh yes. If not for the fried garlic this dish also wouldn't have any flavor. My partner and I had almost finished our meal when the special fried rice arrived, I would say this was the worst fried rice I've ever had. It had what looked like chunks of SPAM in it. I recon the school tuck shop could make it better. We were so disappointed and left vowing never to return for anything apart from the dumplings. Maybe that's why they are called a dumpling house and not a Chinese restaurant.
