Bidra med feedbackWe went for South Indian veg thali on Christmas day. Firstly, given the price of 3500/ per thali, one would expect a drink or shorbha to be included. A meal in MTR comes with a soup, fruit juice, lassi etc. Secondly, there was no description of what we were going to be served and we had to ask. Thirdly the restaurant was called Dakshin but the whole meal was more of Kerala cuisine. I feel more elements of Tamilnadu, Andhra, Karnataka could have been incorporated (like kuzhi paniyarams, kosambari, pineapple pachadi, sweets like adhirasam etc). For eg. I can say with confidence that this is the 1 place in Bengaluru where the rasam which is a Karnataka specialty was underwhelming. There were no second helpings offered on any of the items and we had to ask for refills of papads (which was served right at the beginning and not with the rice course). 2 desserts were served again for a price of 3500/ , one would expect a more elaborate menu. Overall not a very satisfactory experience.
Experience was very good Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food was super and the attention to details while presenting the food was amazing... how ever I expected the pool in front of the restaurant to be bigger or lit in a different way it was just ok.. the staff were friendly. The prices are high.. a bit expensive but the food is worth it
Food is very bad Service also very very bad Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
We came here for a casual dinner and ordered thali that was on the set menu. Shockingly, none of the items were tasty. Be it sambar, rasam, curries, Kerala parotta (tasted like ready to eat ones), appam was more like a set dosa. Expect few chutneys and bottle water, nothing was good. But as we were very hungry, we hogged everything that was served. After eating, both mine and my husband’s stomach got upset which is completely not acceptable. We paid over 8000 Rupees for this thali and it was not worth the money AT ALL. I have had thali in Dakshin in Chennai, Hyderabad and also in same Bengaluru Dakshin as well 2-3 years back and the food tasted divine that time but there is a drastic downfall now i must say. I must also mention that the washrooms in Windsor were very dirty. Shocked with the whole experience. Anyone looking for eating south Indian food, please go to these local places where you will find much much tastier food and in 1/20th cost.
