Bidra med feedbackGreat location. Very nice staff. On the map the food sounds super good... and some of them. I had the Skagen sandwich, the shrimps were great... but the bread tasted about 5 days old... Okay for your own remains, but not in a restaurant. My wife also had an old tortilla with her dinner... Bread is so easy to get right and they have it wrong.
Our first meal in Bergen was here! Very nice and cozy location. We wanted some Norwegian food, and this place was the right place as it is the oldest restaurant in Bergen! Or we were told. They had their Christmas card, so we had a traditional farewell, like the Lutefisk and Pinnekjott. It came with two portions at kr 565. One serving was enough for us, so it wasn't worth the price, hungry! We tried a tapas wound of the peeled belly in Lefse and found it a little dry. Also at kr 155 for a street taco size bite I found it expensive. It was proposed to order 1 Entree and 2 Tapas per person. I think that's a lot of food. Totally great location, authentic food, wonderful ambience and attentive service.
We came to this restaurant twice in two days because they have many traditional Norwegian dishes. We tried the Persetorsk, which is exceptionally good. We also tried fish here because we cannot find other restaurants in Bergen with this dish. It is not as delicious as Persetorsk, perhaps because it is so less juicy of nature, but you get the original fish taste. The other dishes we tried were cold dishes: roasted whales, venison pate, marinated lamb fillet and reindeer tart. Trust me, the lamb fillet is a must if you like raw meat. The reindeer is exceptionally good, but the marinated lamb is the best. It is really soft and smooth and the marinat source melts deep into the lamb. Note, if you come to lunch, you can only choose from the lunch menu. I do not think there are many decisions at that time. Finally, the staff are also friendly.
This old and creepy building is full of personality, and in the menu you will find several specialties from Bergen. The food is excellent and also the service so that this historic restaurant is worth a visit.
