Bidra med feedbackGreat menu. Presented very very well. My family and I were extremely satisfied. Will definitely order again. We ordered a “Golden Box” (pictured) came with Lion King, Golden Dragon, California and Shrimp Tempura Rolls. Also ordered a 49er Roll.
Meh, I went here because it was close to my house and I was too lazy to drive. TLDR: The rolls are extremely small, the fish is sliced paper thin, and more money is spent on packaging than actual substance. I wouldn 't call this place s because that would be disrespectful to actual s out of my dog 's f a One of my favorite sushi spots that balances value and quality is Amami sushi in San Bruno and they charge $14.50 for a Lion King Roll. This obviously isn 't Amami, but this is half the size (roll to roll) and doesn 't have much green onion, no tobiko, and even the imitation crab is skimped on. At the price they charge, it doesn 't really make sense for me to head here versus other places in the area. At Amami, two rolls would fill me up but here I would say three, if not four. That is how much they skimp on the rolls here. The packaging is better than your run of the mill plastic, but I don 't understand the investment here from a business perspective. I would rather have a better product than fancy packaging that really doesn 't do much. The soy sauce itself is also custom packaged, but why? I would understand if this was homemade, top of the line soy sauce, but generic Kikkoman is better than what was packaged inside. Further insult is added to injury in that whatever was packaged inside was oddly sweet... Let 's be real here, fancy packaging isn 't going to matter if your food itself is mediocre. I am not even going to talk about their menu strategy and pricing because they 're really just shooting themselves in the foot here. The sushi lover set I ordered was effectively all salmon, which I wouldn 't mind if it made sense price wise. The rolls here are... bigger, but only marginally so. The fish on the rolls was sort of fresh but it was sliced extremely thin on top of the roll and by thin, I mean the absolute bare minimum for a blindfolded person to tell that there is salmon on top. I don 't even know why the Rainbow Roll is called a rainbow roll because it only has salmon and shrimp. If the rice was seasoned, well... I wasn 't able to tell at all because it tasted like unseasoned rice to me. You may as well close down shop and not even sell sushi if you 're going to do that because even a hillbilly in the great Midwest could figure it out. The sashimi was the best thing in this set but it was somehow less fresh than what was on the rolls? The local demographic is mostly college students, but there is close to no value here that would entice a student to come here. Prices are close to neighboring restaurants but the actual substance is severely lacking. I don 't know why this place is even here and I would be surprised if they stayed open for more than a year. I really don 't go to places and attack their business strategy after eating there, but god damn this place is such business malpractice that its practically asking for it. Two more random thoughts: God damn buffet sushi has more substance. Its funny that they have art on the packaging that references Japan because you would get deported for serving food like this there not homeless from running out of business, but deported because even the government won 't help your a with this.
This is my new go to place for budget sushi. I order pick up and it's quick and always ready on time. Highly recommend the Orange Box for Salmon lovers.
Because i order 6 pieces of gyoza and i did received them. Wondering if they are gonna give me my money back.
I hate giving bad reviews........But here I go.... I will start with the good. -The packaging is pretty great as other Yelpers have said. -They read my request and added extra soy sauce. (I paid for it, which is ok) -Plenty of utensils, napkins, etc. Now the bad. -The rolls are smaller size. -Fish is cut so thin, it is almost transparent. -I am not a fan of pre-packaged ginger or wasabi. It was my first time experiencing this and though I am not a sushi snob or expert.......uh NO! It was not a good experience. -I ordered a Golden Box which has a variety of 4 different rolls but they pretty much all tasted the same. I was looking for a high quality hole in the wall sushi for regular take out to replace going to Whole Foods, but I think I will stick to Whole Foods sushi for my grab and go sushi. My tummy is going blah..........
