Alpenwirt - Berlin

This is one of good traditional German restaurant. Alps regional. Atmosphere seems skiing center. But foods are fine, they have good wine samples. Also friend and neighboors are coming to visit here, frienly pub atmosphere. Needs more regional beer samples, only food is not enough. Prices is medium rate, not so high, it can be good experience if you will be arround.

Alpenwirt is very different from the restaurants you will find maybe 1 km further east around Warschauer or Simon-Dach-Straße. It could as well be located in rural Bavaria or Baden-Wuerttemberg. The music they are playing is mainly "Schlager".This is true for both the interior, wooden chairs and tables, as well as the menu, which is meat heavy and hearty. There are, for example, about 2 vegetarian dishes - both starters. But you´ll also get the cheese noodles (Käsespätzle) without ham, if you ask for it.Service was very friendly.The food was very good, my cheese noodles were very good, heavy with cheese, cream and onions. The serving could have been a little bigger, for my taste, though.Our baby daughter joined us. She was treated very friendly, i.e. given a toy truck, that she could take home and served very quickly with her food. The waitress even switched on a dancing toy elephant.For this part of Berlin, beer is a little expensive at 3,60 for 0,5 liters.In the summer you can sit outside, when it´s cold, the windows the restaurant are huge, so that you get enough daylight and can both see what´s going on outside.

Very tasty eating and very friendly staff. we were very satisfied and I can recommend this restaurant. if they want something else, but tasty they should not skip this restaurant.
