Mertin & Kuster - Berlin

This restaurant was a wonderful introduction to Berlin on our first night here. The food is absolutely delicious and has lots of vegetarian options, there was a musical trio of guitar, accordion and trumpet. The server was very helpful and pleasant. And a magician performed which topped off the evening.

Our tour organized a dinner here and it was great fun. The food wasn't bad, but it was only part of the experience. A three piece polka band was there to greet us on arrival and they were a lot of fun. There was a magician that had everyone in stitches from the get go. Worthwhile.

Had a fun evening with group and service was very good considering how many of us were there. The wiener schnitzel comes with potatoes and a vegetable and was very good. The music was loud and some folks were yelling to converse with each other. A magician performed at several table but it was pretty amateurish. They should skip this performance. Vern, the owner, is very friendly and accesible.

Food could not be more ordinary. For my friends on the choir tour, this was the 1st meal in a German restaurant. Very sad. Veggies were from frozen-out-of-the-bag...spinach maybe from a can. Ick -don't go!

Wir waren da mit einer Gruppe von 35 Leuten. Der Service war o.k., die Ansprache (Erklärung der Speisekarte) unnötig, da alle lesen konnten.Aber das Essen war (außer der Currywurst) miserabel, schlechter als in jeder Gefängniskantine. Das Gemüse aus der Tiefkühltruhe ohne jeden Geschmack und Pfiff, das Eis billig, das Schnitzel aus Preßfleisch, das Bier überteuert - dafür stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis überhaupt nicht. Einmal und nie wieder.
