If you find yourself in Bishop, California, and have a hankering for some authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further than the incredible Mexican restaurant nestled in this charming town. The menu boasts a wide array of traditional Mexican dishes, each prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. Whether you're in the mood for sizzling fajitas, mouthwatering enchiladas, or flavorful tacos, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. The flavors are bold and vibrant, taking your taste buds on a tantalizing journey through the diverse culinary landscape of Mexico. One standout dish that I can't recommend enough is their signature carne asada. The tender and juicy grilled steak, perfectly seasoned and accompanied by fresh pico de gallo and guacamole, is a true delight. This restaurant is an absolute must-visit. With its authentic flavors, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere, it has all the ingredients for a truly exceptional meal.
Stopped here on our way up to Mammoth. My son HAD to have a cheeseburger and we found this walking by. In we went, service was quick and we immediately got a basket of chips and salsa. Both entrees we got were piping hot and delicious. My son had his kids cheeseburger and fries. Fries were perfect and the burger juice and yummy. We definitely will return if we ever need a pit stop next trip.
The foods good. The menu has a lot of traditional American food, both breakfast and lunch. The service is okay and the staff is nice. It's not mind blowing great, but it's pretty decent for the area. The hot sauce is really good so you Should experience all 3 options
With the look of a diner crossed with a palapa on the beach, El Ranchito puts out good, if not great, Mexican fare. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu at El Ranchito has American and Mexican selections for any time of day. From hamburgers with fries and breakfast burritos to three-egg omelettes and the usual selection of tacos and burritos, there is something for everyone. Piled high with moist roast chicken, onions, finely chopped tomatoes and fresh cilantro, the tacos Mexicanos $14.50) are served with Mireya's rice and either Mayacoba refried) or black beans. While the black beans were a little too al dente, the combination plate was very good. With a copious amount of either octopus or shrimp, the seafood cockteil small: $14, large: $18) is chocked full of diced tomato, cucumber, onion, cilantro and avocado and bathed in a rich, spicy tomato broth. Refreshing, spicy and filling at the same time. The small is sufficient for one person, while the large could easily serve as an appetizer for two. Staff was friendly and efficient, as was the kitchen: diners' needs were met promptly, and the food came out rapidamente. Pro tip: El Ranchito has five different salsas, all made in-house: tomatillo verde packs a little kick), chile de arbol, aguacate avocado-based, creamy and mild), salsa ranchera medium spicy), salsa roja mild) and chipotle. If they are not proffered, be sure to ask for them. Good, honest and well-priced, El Ranchito is worth a try if you are in Bishop and have a craving for a Mexican food.
