Bidra med feedbackWe stumbled upon Weingut Wyanga Park and we are thrilled that we did! It was an incredible experience. We started with a wine tasting flight that was exquisite, particularly enjoying their Prosecco. After purchasing our wine, we were able to park our campervan at their free camping site. This was a wonderful bonus as all they ask is for guests to be considerate and support the winery. It was a relief for us to be able to enjoy the wine without any worries. In the evening, we returned for dinner and indulged in their Mexican night, which was perfect for us as vegetarians. We must mention Ali, our waitress, who was exceptional. She made us feel like old friends and all the servers were incredibly friendly, enhancing our experience tenfold. We will definitely be recommending this winery to our friends traveling the east coast.
Exceptional customer service, super delicious food, warm wood fire in the cooler months and many a talking piece of art works on the walls.
We have been here three times in the past month to celebrate different occasions. The food is delicious, so we will definitely be returning! You must try the Haloumi Fries - yum! For some fun, you can also try a flight of 4 wines before your meal. They offer daily specials and a variety of vegetarian options. The fresh fish is exceptional. As the weather warms up, the outdoor seating is a great option. The friendly and efficient service makes this a fantastic place to dine.
We recently had lunch at Wyanga Park. We would have loved to have done the cruise from Lakes Entrance to the winery for lunch but it didn 't happen I 'll get to that later. The dining area is different . Not in a bad way, just...different. The furniture is mismatched chairs, tables with no tablecloths, lots of varied paintings on one wall for sale, if you 're interested) and wine barrel porthole windows. It contributes to a casual, relaxed vibe. We were asked if we 'd like to do a tasting, but with only 2 reds on the menu, and one of them being a merlot I 've only ever tasted two really good merlots in my life and I 've tasted a few), we opted just to forgo the tasting and get straight into lunch. I had the scotch fillet steak sandwich, my wife had the seafood chowder, our daughter just had chips. We didn 't have to wait too long for our food, but in the interim we took some happy snaps of the art. Our food came and we were impressed. My wife loved her seafood chowder, so fresh and plenty of seafood. My steak sandwich was excellent, juicy and tender steak with cheese and rocket and a sauce that topped it off perfectly. The bread was also well toasted. It came with a side of chips that. although crispy and tasty, I couldn 't eat all of because I was so full from the steak. I paired my steak with a glass of their 2020 cab sauv, which was acceptable but was quite tannic in my opinion, and would benefit from a few more years in the bottle to smooth out the rough edges. My wife had a glass of the Boobialla Blush moscato which she said was good. Now, what is letting this establishment down somewhat, is their communication. We 'd rung the winery on Tuesday morning to enquire about booking the cruise to the winery for lunch on the Wednesday their website says to do this if we 're booking for children. Our phone call wasn 't answered, so I left a clear message on their answering machine, expecting a return phone call by the following morning. It didn 't happen, so we made other plans for our Wednesday and booked a Buchan cave tour for Friday. Lo and behold Elly/Ally left me a voice message on Wednesday after the cruise would have departed). I returned her call and she said we could book the lunch cruise for Thursday. Great, I said, let 's do that. She went to confirm, but then came back and said the cruise wasn 't running on Thursday, but it would be on Friday. I replied we can 't do Friday, we 've got something else booked Buchan caves). She was very apologetic. I was pretty disappointed, but sometimes we you travel, the stars just don 't align. Anyway, come Thursday, we thought, let 's drive to the winery and have lunch. OK, better ring and book. So I ring at about 11am, Jimmy I think) answers the phone. He asks me to hold for a minute, No worries . So I 'm on hold for 12 minutes before I give up. I could hear people conversing in the background, it sounded like they might have been doing a tasting and he 'd probably just gotten distracted and forgotten about me being on hold. We decide to just take our chances and rock up without booking. We arrive, I make no mention of being left hanging on hold and we get seated. All good. We dine and then it 's time to leave. I request an itemised tax receipt so I can make a claim on salary packaging. Our host appears to have brought up a bottle of the Boobialla Blush moscato, which we hadn 't agreed to purchase, but he could not seem to find our bill of sale. I was able to tell him exactly what we had, which came to $86, no problem there. He said he couldn 't print a receipt, but he could email one, which I agreed to. When we get back to our accommodation, i discovered he 'd emailed a receipt for the bottle of the moscato $29) instead of the food and glasses of wine that we 'd had. I then emailed their info email address to report the incorrect receipt and request the correct one. It has now been 3 days later and I 've had no response from the winery. Staff seem nice and friendly, but their communication/procedures need improvement.
Where do we begin? Right from the start it was rock n roll. Friendly staff, intelligent staff and attentive staff. We started with a wine appreciation tasting and I was blown away with the local mix of grapes in the Field Blend. Deeeliciousss. The Yarra...Valley Cab Sav has promise but such a delightful wine. Then came the food. No matter what you chose it had class, finesse and such a balance of taste. We shared haloumi paprika with a wonderful capsicum jam. Such a bomb of flavour and just the right amount of haloumi. Seafood chowder is a capricious dish that is hard to get right; they nailed it in one. Generous serve at correct temperature that did not have you blowing it out. My salad was full of taste, Angel of descriptor and Angel of taste. Pomegranate was just the sweetener that was needed to balance the rocket lettuce. But it was the beautiful smoked chicken that it was all about. Taste is so subjective but I've had few chicken dishes that matched this simple dish, taste and balance were exceptional. Everything on the menu was fantastic, I've given only one menu choice, the rest sounded equally delicious. The kids are not forgotten however and at reasonable prices. For a shared entree, 2 mains, 4 wine tastes, 2 generous glasses of wine this was exceptional value. When we got to Wyanga it was overcast but we were well looked after in the beautiful garden under a large umbrella and a sail. One last detail of exceptional taste were the glasses we had, so clean and the lip of the glass was delightful. Not a great day today but we were transported to another planet with the exceptional food.
