Bidra med feedbackThe overwhelming complaint from everyone—myself included—was about the miserable owners, who seemed intent on making us feel uncomfortable. Their behavior often felt aggressive, with one instance where the male owner repeatedly called a family friend a "little punk" in front of several guests. Additionally, when I kindly requested an extra red solo cup, the female owner slammed it down on the bar with such force that it cracked. It’s worth noting that the sauna was out of order, and staff mentioned it hadn’t been functional for quite some time. Since the wedding, I’ve spoken with many guests, all of whom had negative things to say about the owners, highlighting their poor treatment. There were multiple incidents that showcased the owners' unprofessionalism, but I believe I've illustrated the point well enough. Unfortunately, the owners' attitudes turned what could have been a wonderful weekend into a frustrating experience, causing discomfort for many attendees. Now, let me highlight the positive aspects of the lodge. If the owners had managed their operations differently and treated us with respect, I believe we all would have considered returning in the future. Many guests regarded it as one of the finest places they had visited in Northern Ontario, and I share that sentiment even with the competition from other beautiful locations in the area. The staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and well-maintained, and I particularly enjoyed my spacious room with a fireplace. Most cabins, with the exception of the Treetop Cabin, offered lovely views of the water or the stunning waterfalls nearby. The grounds were well-kept, and the food was delicious. There is WiFi available in the main lodge and in certain parts of some cabins. I appreciated the lack of TVs and radios in the rooms—it was a great way to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life, and there was no cell service either. I ultimately gave a three-star review because the owners made it difficult to rate the experience higher. If the ownership changed or improved, I would absolutely return and likely give a five-star rating. However, that doesn’t seem likely anytime soon, especially with so many other fantastic options in the North. We even planned to revisit for our friends' anniversary, but those plans have been canceled after discussing the owners’ behavior with fellow guests.
This restaurant is definitely worth the trip! Located about 20-30 minutes outside of Elliot Lake, the lodge is set in a stunning and picturesque area. There are cozy cabins available for rent, perfect for staying with family or friends, and there are beautiful hiking trails nearby. The lodge offers excellent customer service and serves hearty, homemade meals. We particularly enjoy the chicken Caesar salad and the burgers. It's worth the journey, and I’d give it a solid 5 stars!
