Bidra med feedbackI have been a regular at Doris for about 10 years, visiting twice a week. However, I hadn’t been there in a year due to the pandemic. This morning, February 11, 2021, I made the decision to return, but I did not feel safe at all. The cashier was not wearing a mask; she only had a small plastic shield with a large opening on one side, which didn’t adequately cover her face. When I pointed out that she needed to wear a mask since the shield was ineffective, she replied, "You are not a doctor, and you are not a police officer." I responded that I didn’t need to be a doctor or a police officer, as I follow CDC guidelines. She was quite rude and dismissed me, stating, "I don’t want to discuss this with you." After that experience, I cannot see myself returning to this establishment, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid it. My husband and I believe in supporting local businesses, but it's unsettling to see that some of them don’t prioritize our safety. They also offer prepared food, and it’s hard to imagine how safe it is to eat their meals under these circumstances.
This market is an excellent one-stop grocery shopping destination in the area. Whether you're looking for fresh meats, pasta, breads, bakery items, or fish, this is the ideal place to shop. They also have a wine section featuring reasonably priced selections from various regions around the world. I particularly appreciate their wide range of cheeses and sausages. Additionally, they offer a selection of cleaned and vacuum-packed shellfish, which is a nice touch. And let’s not forget the pizza—it’s surprisingly delicious! To make the most of the sales, I recommend signing up online for their weekly specials.
Doris' Italian Market Bakery is a small chain of stores located in South Florida. I recently visited their Boca Raton location and have since returned several times! The store may be small, but they offer some truly unique food options. Where else can you find a whole goat head in the meat section? On each of my visits, I opted for the bakery items instead of the exotic meats. This is a type of bakery that isn't commonly found in Florida. While there are plenty of Italian bakeries in the New York area, I haven’t come across anything quite like this in Orlando. I've been to Doris' for their baked goods a few times now. On one occasion, I tried a cannoli, which was delightful. Another time, I indulged in sfogliatelle—how can you resist flaky pastry filled with cheese and dusted with powdered sugar? During my third visit, I sampled their Chocolate Mousse Pie, which was a tall dessert filled with mousse and whipped cream, topped with a hard chocolate shell. It was incredibly delicious! I’m hoping that one day…
They almost always have what I'm looking for.
