Restaurante Las Margaritas - Bogotá

The reviews are true. Great place with lots of history and especially good food in the Chapinero neighborhood. The empanadas are wonderful little bite mortar filled with potatoes and beef. Also the Longaniza and Chicharron loved. Worth a stop.

I went with my father and a friend, we're all locals. Service was slow, cleanliness of the table had to be requested after we had set ourselves. Morcilla was good, Ajiaco was kind of tasteless, but good size. Tamal was very good. The owner was super friendly. But he has to put it up.

I've eaten twice to Bogota. Julio, the owner, was very friendly and helpful to try several suggestions. My Spanish is quite simple and it was nice that Julio tell me the dishes in English. I tried 5 or 6 things about the 2 meals that are all excellent. Unfortunately, I forget the name of my favorite dish, but it was a white soup with beans and cow stomachs. The empanadas are great, and I also tried some pork and beef censuses. I recommend checking this place if you want to taste a real Colombian food in the Chapinero district of Bogota.

Their Ajiaco is good and their empanadas are very good (if quite overpriced -the empanadas- . It is a very good place for having typical food from Bogotá and its surroundings; the place is very unpretentious, and somewhat in disrepair (in a good sense . Incidentally it...is one of the the oldest (possibly the oldest restaurants in the city providing continuous service. As a big highlight, on Thursdays at lunchtime they serve Puchero Santafereño, which is a delicious Sancocho from Bogotá (traditionally involving three different kinds of meat , and quite hard to find in restaurants nowadays as it has been unfairly elbowed out by Ajiaco from the run-of-the-mill typical dish menus.

Wow! This restaurant was amazing. From the moment we walked in the service was fantastic. The chef even came out to see if we liked the food. We ordered the empanadas and they were so wonderful we had to order 2 more! The Ajiaco was...the first we had ever had and was unbelievable so tasty and flavourful! We are going to have to return tomorrow or this weekend!
