Bidra med feedbackOne of the best low key, good food restaurants in Bordeaux.
A really disappointing meal. Greasy fish, vegetables. The only good thing was the wine options and the potato side dish.
This is a real hiden GemSmall, with a few tables, better to make a reservationFood is deliciously good: steak, scallops and 3 side dish.
A small place but ooh la la what food. And so reasonable. A find recommended by the hotel. Just great food. Must reserve. Not a ton of space
Spotted the lurid pink neon sign "gem" on our first evening in Bordeaux and thought it was some sort of night club! But, on checking out local restaurants on TA, discovered it was a well rated eatery, so decided to try it out. Booked a table at short notice and although we arrived early, the waitress was most accommodating and set us up a table indoors as it was getting quite cool outside. The restaurant is quite small and unpretentious, with a small kitchen, one chef + two waitresses and an uncomplicated menu. There were interesting specials on the board but we opted for the menu formule at 25 euro. Choice of three starters, four main courses and then dessert or coffee. The main event of cotelettes d'agneau were to die for and the accompanying frites, mixed veg and garlic mash were the perfect sides. Good choice of desserts to follow and it was the perfect meal. There's no wine list as such, but all the wines are on shelves and clearly priced so you just browse and choose as you wish. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and there was an English translation of the menu if required. Definitely one to return to!
