I was SO impressed! Food was excellent and very high quality, locally sourced. Amazing service, friendly and efficient. Wished I had this round the corner from my house...I would LIVE there!

While exploring the country side of Piacenza you are bound if lucky to find a place like Le Proposte. We had a fantastic dinner with the freshest ingredients and it was the simplicity of it all that made it just perfect. The antipasto, fresh zucchini flowers very lightly fried and full of flavor, the peppers that accompanied the salame,pancetta,coppa and prosciutto were pickled and just right in the acidity. We were also served a bruschetta with green sauce and goat cheese, I would have wanted more but needed to be carful for what was to come. We decided to share a main course, fresh made caramelle (typical for the Piacenza area) with ricotta and spinach in butter and sage, it has been a very long time that I tasted such decadence in such a simple plate. Absolutely worth the carbs! We then ordered the duck with cherries and Culatello with apricot sauce. The duck was cooked to perfection, and tasted great with the sides, and the culatello was extremely tender and it was perfect with the apricots. For dessert we shared a quite generous portion of peach and chocolate cake, the peaches were fresh and the consistency of the pastry was crispy and delicious. We then were offered a local digestive, I had never tasted a Bargnolino and it was a great way to finish a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend if you are in the area to try this family run restaurant.
