Bidra med feedbackA unique ambiance in Balwyn, attentive and friendly service. Quality of the food is well above anywhere else in the area and very tasty. Highly recommend and we will certainly be returning
Unpretentious little restaurant almost next door to the Palace Cinema in Balwyn. We dined before going to the movies and the staff managed the timing very professionally.Good choice of appealing meals which are served with considerable flair and attractive presentation. Excellent array of daily specials and good choice of desserts.Would certainly go back as meal quality, service and the interesting wine list were outstanding.Wise to book as the restaurant is not large and you could be disappointed.
The atmosphere in Arthur Radley is so unique and quaint. I loved the TKAMB theme with the large print of Gregory Peck, the vintage postcards and knick knacks which make Arthur Radley a visual feast. Add to that the delicious and well presented food and you have a venue which is a great place to take a loved one or a couple of close friends for an intimate dining experience. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the specials were described to us by the hostess. There was a constant stream of people and while we didn't book we were lucky as walk ins were turned away. We had the butterflied chilli and lemon prawns for entree which were up there with the most scrumptious and flavoursome prawns Ive ever eaten. For main I had veal envelopè with cauliflower gratin and my partner had the roast duck breast, both of which were delicious. Dessert wasn't as strong, chocolate and macadamia pudding and mille fuille, too many macadamias (yes true!) and the mille fuille lacked substance, could also have benefited from more ice cream as the serving was a bit over a teaspoon! :(Overall though I would highly recommend Arthur Radley for the service, ambience, entree and main, skip dessert and go next door to the Palace Cinema and have one of their homemade choctops instead :)
We have been patrons of this fabulous little restaurant for some years. Never have we been disappointed. It's not pretentious, it's not fine dining - it's just always good honest food served in a casual little space. Anna is so attentive and tries to make everyone feel as if one is sharing her home, it's great.Perfect for before or after the movies.
Arthur Radley is the place if you want to go for good honest, not pretentious food. The To Kill a Mocking Bird themed restaurant with its knick knacks in odd places provides a character to the space. Anna provides efficient service and a friendly chat whilst digging into your breakfast, she also does a mean soy Latte. The food itself is simple but packs a decent flavor punch. I was served a generous portion of eggs bacon and smashed avocado/feta and toast ( Smavolicious bacon was extra ). The poached eggs were cooked to the perfection, the smavo had a good ratio of feta and avocado, bacon was a little overdone for my taste but still delicious, the balsamic drizzle provided the cut needed from the avocado and feta. Overall my experience dining experience with Arthur has been an extremely enjoyable one. 5/5
