Bidra med feedbackI called and asked if they do their menu takeaway and was told yes so i ordered the steak sandwich which was meant to come with mayo, tomato, baby cos, avocado, caramelised onions, tomato relish, swiss cheese and chunky chips - $23. What i got was a slice of toast covered in some sort of terrible pink dip (maybe beetroot and feta?) mixed lettuce leaves, tomato, dry tough steak, onions and tasty cheese with a small side of sweet potato chips - $16! Not what I was expecting and was disappointed that it wasn't the same as the menu, i would have paid $23 to get the menu item! If ordering takeaway, i suggest you clarify EXACTLY what you expect to get.
My partner and I have visited this cafe on two previous occasions, mainly for the food and the good value for money. We enjoy the food, and the coffee is more than adequate. The service is certainly nothing to write home about. We went for a third visit today. This is a cafe that has a sign asking customers to wait to be seated. After a short time we were advised to sit anywhere we wanted. We chose our spot and that was pretty much it. We waited for menus, water, any sort of attention but none was forthcoming. In the time we waited we observed one particular staff member get confused about which table he was to take a coffee, take an order, clean up some empty plates, and chat for a few minutes to an existing customer. Not at any stage were we acknowledged or even glanced upon.We decided to give the staff another chance (and the aforementioned staff member) to make amends but nothing was forthcoming. This was when we decided to leave. Based on today's experience we won't be back either. We went to a cafe around the corner who couldn't make us feel any more welcome than than they did. The service was excellent and a stark contrast to what we experienced earlier at N2. It doesn't take much effort to provide a good level of service but it can be costly when it doesn't occur.
This is my local and favourite coffee place but recently the service has really gone off - such a shame. The waiter hardly said two words to us, brought me the wrong coffee and was quite rude as if it was my fault.
What a lovely breakfast I had here this morning. This cafe is open from 6am, which is fantastic - and they are not just setting up when I arrive, but open and ready to go. The place is large, with stark black/yellow decor. They offer a standing table if you want to read the newspaper "at the bar" with your coffee - French style - or if you want to sit and take your time there are lots of chairs and tables. Their breakfast menu has several options, so I choose Fruit Salad & Yoghurt, which is delicious. The fruit salad is generous and fresh, nicely presented and blended with fresh mint leaves which gives it a tasty astringent "zing" - well done. The yoghurt is good. My long black coffee is strong and hot, just how I like it - well done there too. This is my first visit, but I will definitely be back - thank you.
We had a working lunch here during the week. The staff were efficient and very friendly. The waiter suggested we move to a large table so we had room for our paperwork and folders. All 4 of us had a salad. Tuna, warm chicken and calamari and we all enjoyed them. Fresh and tasty. The coffee was also really good. The café is a little quirky, perfect location in Burke Rd Camberwell. What’s not to like?
