Lovers of French food, we were very impressed with the food at Bar Boulud. We had superb moules frites with extra frites and bone marrow ! and an excellent glass of Sancerre. The atmosphere early evening on a Saturday was relaxed with a very decent noise level. Service was friendly and quick but not rushed. The only disappointment was that we had a reservation for a hightop at 5:30 and when we arrived, all the hightops were taken, and the hostess just said they are first come, first serve.

Food was so so and I could not believe they charged the pelligrino 12 dollars a bottle.Usually even at top restaurants in Boston charges 7 dollars.Our Waitress was nice but rest of the helpers very cold and unfriendly.I expected the restaurant was more up beat when they are charging that much and we were little disappointed and felt like having a dinner in casual bar.

The prices are a shade over most good restaurants, but it is worth it. They don't try to reinvent classic food, but they don't let it be boring either. The gougeres were light, but had a great cheese flavor. The lemon sole amandine, was exquisite. It isso easy to mess up a delicate fish, but it was perfectly cooked, as was the sauce and sides. If you come here, you should sitback and enjoy the food with a nice bottle of wine. Don't just run in for a quick bite. Just went back yesterday anddiscovered that a few of the cooks left and were replaced. I am happy to report that as a customer I would have never had aclue. Management is doing its job. I had the scallops and my wife had the sole which had a rice side. Both were excellent.

Located within the Mandarin Oriental Boston, this place offers one of the best dining experience in Boston. Service staff is very courteous and shows initiative. I had breakfast here and the buffet spread though small is pretty good in quality. Dinneroffers curated choice of food but I especially liked their wide range of wine selections. Overall, this place offers verypleasant dining experience and will definitely be back!
