Futago Udon - Boston

Absolutely the most delicious udon bowls I have ever had. I tried both the warm and the cold ones and they were fantastic. Overall the place feels like a very authentic Japanese restaurant with very respectful and attentive staff. Great experience!

The food and service are commendable. The restaurant is a bit cramped, with tables relatively close together. Prices are on the higher side for a bowl of noodles. However, the standout features of the meal are the flavorful broth and the tenderness of the meat.

This restaurant offers excellent Chinese and Japanese fusion udon. The udon here boasts a robust flavor that sets it apart from other udon places. It's both easy to eat and packed with taste. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the staff are friendly. You can even see the kitchen preparing your meal. I tried the spicy miso udon from the lunch menu, and it was hearty and delicious. Futago Udon is the perfect place to satisfy your udon cravings. The cold niku udon features a rich broth that balances sweetness and savoriness, complemented by tender slices of beef. The udon noodles have a delightful texture that is both delicious and chewy—just how udon should be. The fried oysters were good, not overly large and very well prepared. The agedashi tofu was tasty, though I was surprised to find it served hot. The mushroom sauce was a nice touch—fresh and unique for me.

I have been to Futago twice and I cannot stop raving about their udon to my friends. Creative, vibrant and obviously delicious dishes, plenty of street parking near by, what else could you ask for! There’s no reservation and always a line, so call ahead to check wait times.
