Nagomi Izakaya - Boston

This was our second visit, and we will definitely be back. Everything was excellent, and the menu features some unique items to try, along with the typical Japanese dishes you would expect.

Having lived in Japan and enjoyed over 20 years of excellent Japanese cuisine, we have become quite discerning when it comes to izakayas. This place stands out as possibly the best I’ve found outside of Japan. The food is fantastic, featuring fresh fish and innovative dishes crafted by the chef. We started with an appetizer of wagyu paired with shrimp and a yuzu drizzle, which was delightful. The chutoro (fatty tuna) here could rival the finest fish at the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that is worth the splurge. It wasn't cheap, but we will definitely be back soon.

I enjoyed an excellent traditional Japanese meal at this restaurant. I ordered the black cod special, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned, accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus. The tofu appetizer was also very good, and the salmon special with rice was outstanding. However, I was a bit disappointed that they only offered tea in bags instead of a pot of loose green tea. Additionally, the service felt a bit rushed, which detracted from the overall experience.

Garnel and sweet tempura, came with fried-cold garnel. the teriyaki salmon was served room temperature. eating was at best mediocre. huge disappointment.

I brought 3 friends to try Nagomi for the first time. We were blown away by everything. The food, the service, the ambiance. Anything with uni is my favorite on their menu, it’s so so fresh!!! I would recommend this to anyone that loves sushi. It’s certainly is my new favorite Japanese restaurant.
