Bidra med feedbackWe saw the ad for Encore, so we gave it a try. We made table reservations. I had the rib eye that was perfectly cooked. Great steaks and great service.
What a hidden jewel! Had dinner. Rib-eye, Fillet Mignon and Burger were perfectly cooked and tasty. Dressing on the Wedge was fantastic! Well presented! Will definitely go back to try other dishes.
We began with a delightful Lemon Garlic Shrimp, presented on a bed of Apple Slaw with a hint of Jalapeño and just the right amount of garlic, herbs, and olive oil drizzled in a way that was both eye-catching and delicious. This dish paired beautifully with a crisp Acrobat Pinot Gris. Next, we enjoyed a beautifully presented Wedge Salad, featuring a slice of Iceberg Lettuce topped with Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Cherry Tomatoes, and Avocado, all sitting in a pool of Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing, finished with crumbled Blue Cheese. This course was complemented by a Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay. The third course featured the Skagit Burger Slider, which was paired perfectly with a surprisingly delightful Red Wine Blend from The Crusher. Made with Kobe Beef from Snake River Farms and enhanced with Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Three-Garlic Aioli, Gruyere cheese, and Crispy Fried Onions, all served on a homemade Black Sesame Seed Bun, this was one of the best burgers I’ve had on the West Coast. And if you’re a fan of fries, the Hand Cut Truffle Fries are a must-try. Our fourth course was a spectacular Petite Filet Mignon drizzled with a delicious Pinot Noir reduction, complemented by Toasted Almonds and crumbled Point Reyes Blue Cheese. The Francis Coppola Blue Label Merlot was unfortunately outmatched by this perfectly cooked steak, but the Scalloped Potatoes and Asparagus provided a lovely variety and color, enhancing both flavor and presentation. To conclude, we enjoyed a dessert course accompanied by a generous pour of Graham's Six Grapes Porto. This featured three housemade sweets: Chocolate Decadence, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, and a flawlessly prepared Creme Brulee.
Nikayla was our server, and she was fantastic. My husband and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary, and they treated us to our appetizers. I ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. The sauce that accompanied it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Cowboy Beef Rib, served with a chimichurri sauce that was incredible—who needs steak sauce? I can't express enough how wonderful this restaurant is. We absolutely loved it!
This was my first time at The Skillet, and it likely won't be my last. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was both classic and cozy. The waitstaff were friendly, warm, and highly professional, even when dealing with a challenging guest at another table. While the prices are a bit higher than the local average, the quality of the food and the ambiance more than justified it. I had the Steak Frites, which was cooked to perfection, and the Skagit Burger, which I enjoyed as lunch the next day. Both dishes were excellent. For great food, a delightful dining experience, and attentive service, I highly recommend The Skillet to everyone.
