Bidra med feedbackI recall my last Christmas breakfast at Chatterbox in Sunnybank, which brings back memories of our Christmas lunch for Yum Cha at this restaurant. We arrived around 11:30 AM to beat the crowds, and at that time, only about a quarter of the tables were occupied. However, the dining room quickly filled up before we left. The quality of the dim sims has improved significantly, which was the main reason for our return, but we missed the cute-shaped dim sims our friends had described. Nonetheless, this restaurant did not disappoint us at all. Previous ratings: September 2019 - 5/5; January 2019 - 4.5/5; May 2018 - 4/4.
The highlight of the meal was the black (charcoal?) version of the 流沙包 (runny egg custard bun, also known as the lava bun). It was executed perfectly: a light, fluffy bun filled with a rich, oozy molten salted egg custard. I'm not sure how much it cost, but it was definitely worth trying. I recommend taking a few small, careful bites at first or gently tearing it open. I also noticed that the restaurant has a relatively new bubble tea and yogurt drinks stall called Happen Tea. I didn't get anything from there this time, but I'll definitely keep it in mind for my next visit.
We used to visit this restaurant for yum cha lunch quite often, but over the past two years, the prices for prawn dishes have doubled, making it very expensive. As a result, we only go once in a while now. The food still tastes great, and you can still order non-prawn dishes (like pork ribs, beef balls, and chicken feet) at reasonable prices. However, if you do decide to order a few prawn dishes, don’t be surprised by the bill.
Food is pretty good, we like to come here for the yum Cha. However when we do, it feels like there are not enough car parks.<br/ <br/ But in terms of the restaurant, the food isn’t that bad. Yum Cha everywhere is getting pricier, but this place is a bit above average.<br/ <br/ Never realised until recently but there are small rooms upstairs that can host eg family dinners with a large lazy Susan if you would like to book them
Nice place for dimsum. Love the ambience of the restaurant . The food served are really nice too . First time trying dimsum in Brisbane area and it was really yummy that we ordered too much but satisfied from eating a lot of it since had craved for dimsum for quite some time .
