Bidra med feedbackI visited this restaurant with my colleague on a Tuesday evening. We had a most amazing arroz tamboril. Staff is very nice and helpful. This place is excellent value.
In Spain pata negra is associated with the highest of quality; mention pata negra and the expensive Black Iberian ham springs to mind. I happened to be in the area and decided to give this restaurant a go. It looks good from the outside, tables laid out with white table cloths and napkins, some tables occupied and some people by the bar. Stepping in, looking at the menu, I couldn 't help but felt the first disappointment. The offerings were typed out on plain white paper. Probably home printed too. No logo, no graphics whatsoever. Since the place looked decent, I decided to try the bacalhao, which I never got to try and this was my last evening here. My son had the Francesinha a Pata Negra. Goodness gracious me, but it was like eating pure salt. I should have stopped eating perhaps. I should have said it was inedible and maybe I could have tried something else. But I didn 't; I suffered through it (although I didn 't finish it) and continued suffering hours later. I had been recommended by a local, You must try the bacalhao a Braga . Honestly, I don 't know if this was representative of the pride of Braga, but it was salted cod and it tasted of nothing but salt. The Francesinha was a bit better but not very appetising either. Just based on the presentation alone, it would have failed. I won 't be back.
I always come back when the experience is worth it. I recommend the Bife à cortador. Friendly staff, generous portions and great location.
The Posta da Pata Negra tasted delicious! The Doce da casa was beautiful and delicious, absolutely vouched for this place!
