Ahso - Brambleton

Went there for lunch and found out we’re the ONLY customers. Lunch menu was very limited. The burger was fully pink and thin with some horrible looking and tasting bacon jam, while the chicken breast was very thick and not cooked properly with a strange topping of cabbage and onion pickle. The side salad was very soggy with no real taste of a dressing. Now I know why being in a crowded neighborhood in Brambleton, this place was empty at lunch time. This will be my last time going to this place. If I could give a negative star, I would have done it.

Our first time at Ahso and really enjoyed the experience! The restaurant was hot but they turned on a fan which helped. Our server Bruno was really great, friendly and helpful. We ordered a la carte family style to try as many dishes as possible. Apparently the menu can change daily! Most of the dishes were delicious, with the tom kha mussels being the highlight. Whoever is salting the vegetables is too heavy handed the kimchi in the short rib starter and cauliflower in the snapper dish were way too salty. The snapper was a bit dry as well. Aside from that, everything was delicious. Appreciate the birthday acknowledgement and birthday brioche bread pudding! We definitely want to go back to try the brunch!

The food was ok, but not at the quality commanded by the price. I was offended by the steak. I ordered the flank steak, medium rare. For whatever reason it was incredibly salty, very overzealous with whatever sauce or marinade they were using. Steaks are the simplest restaurant food you can cook, it’s unforgivable to mess one up. It’s also generally a little suspicious to put too much work in to flavor it. If you have good meat it will speak for itself. If you do flavor it, subtlety is key.

Came here for Friday night dinner. DELISH. The Snapper and Flank Steak were amazing! Will definitely come back.

Visited Ahso for dinner and had a great time. The restaurant atmosphere is great, clean and new with contemporary style. The menu is small and simple, with creative dishes and locally-sourced meat and vegetables. The wait staff is incredible attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was incredible, familiar dishes with a unique twist and outstanding flavors. Excellent place for a date, anniversary, or fancy night out. Parking: Parking garage available for free with many spaces. Kid-friendliness: Not many options for little ones with particular tastes, maybe too expensive to try and strike out with a child's palate.
