Bidra med feedbackI am extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a pie this evening and was shocked at the poor quality. The crust was overcooked and tasted like cardboard, and there was barely any cheese on top, mostly just sauce. I would have been better off buying a pizza from the grocery store. It seems like there may be new management in place, but if this is the standard now, I doubt they will last long. Despite the excellent customer service, the terrible food experience outweighs any positives. It's a shame, as we really need a good pizza place in this area.
The food is delicious, but the service is terrible.
We stopped in to order some food to go. We placed our order and was told it would be out in 20 minutes. 45 minutes later I asked someone working behind the counter who just passed me off to another employee who told me the food was coming right out. No apology or anything given for the inconvenience. We got home and I wasn't impressed with the food either. Not worth the wait!
This restaurant was amazing years ago, but when we returned after a five-year absence, it was disappointing. The dish I used to love was made with delicious olive oil that I can't seem to find anywhere else. This time, it tasted like cheap butter and olive oil. Instead of the sliced, toasted garlic bread I remembered, it was served with overcooked garlic knots from the microwave. I wonder where the old owners and chefs went.
People need to be aware this restaurant is no longer the original Mamma Roma. It's managed by a different company and they just kept the name. I'm pretty sure they changed cooks too because this used to be some of the best pizza in southern Maryland and I went there in October and was served something that tasted like dry cardboard. Cheese wasn't even melted. It was dry like a rock. I'll upload pictures.
