The small restaurant has used screens to protect customers against each other in these Covid times. Their local sausages are delicious and the soup was hearty on a cold day. Local beer too.
Restaurant at the end of an hour easy walk from Braunwald, a very sympathetic family feeling, they use their own agricultural production in their wonderful, by grandmother cooking memory kitchen <3
A beautiful place after a long and very interesting walk about 75 minutes from Braunwald. Good homemade peasant food prepared by the peasant woman personally! Simple menu and fine desserts ice cream. Can be highly recommended!
Six of us (2 seniors, 2 adults, 2 children, 3 vegetarians) took a horse pulled taxi from Braunwald (20 CHF) and went back after lunch (free). It was a pleasantly hot day and we sat outside with beautiful views of the valley. Braunwald is also a beautiful location according to high Swiss standards. Food was excellent. Rosti with egg was made to treat the vegetarians. Biker salad (mixed salad with smoked ham) also very good. Playground and trampoline for the inclined.
I went to Nussbuel after a long walk around the mountains. It was lovely and warm and the staff were very friendly. I spoke English so everyone did their best to speak it to me, and a member of staff spoke fluently so she talked to me most. It is set between to forest areas, with a view over the valley and towards the mountains. There is a deck area for use in good weather. The inside has quite traditional wood Swiss decor, with a very low ceiling. The menu is quite traditional Swiss, I had a Bouillon Soup and then Kalbswurst with Rosti potato, then Gugelhupf! And a hot chocolate. It was raining when I arrived so they gave me an umbrella for the walk home, which they would pick up later. It is apparently always open according to the staff. A really nice place to go for lunch on a walking day.
