Thetford Garden Centre - Breckland

The food and atmosphere were excellent, as they have been during my previous visits. However, I was quite disappointed to be seated near a staff member who was clearly unwell and coughing loudly without covering their mouth. While I understand that many places have relaxed their Covid protocols, there are still other viruses that can be spread in this manner. This is not something you would expect to see in a restaurant, but perhaps the staff member felt unable to call in sick.

This was our third visit to this restaurant and unfortunately, it was our third time encountering issues. However, this visit was the worst yet. All we wanted was scrambled eggs for breakfast, a simple request. But the head chef, James, refused to accommodate us and instructed his team to deny our request. This would have been understandable if scrambled eggs were not available at all, but they were offered as a side or on toast for an additional cost. The duty manager of the garden centre seemed afraid to go against James' orders, which must be obeyed at all times. The fact that the restaurant was understaffed on a Sunday is not our problem. This lack of common sense and poor customer service is unacceptable. James needs to be replaced immediately as he is clearly not capable of handling the job.

Have been a great fan and supporter of this place ever since it opened. Popped in for a coffee and a sandwich at about 2.30. Didn't seem to be busy, certainly not as full as I have seen it. I stood and waited to get served. When someone finally took an interest, I asked for a table for one. There's one over there I was told, but you can only have it for five to ten minutes. That's the sandwich gone then, I'll make do with the coffee. By this time, there were only three other people in my half of the coffee shop. Don't quite know what's going on here, used to be excellent in every way it's certainly not what is was, and I won't be inconveniencing them with my custom in the future. A great pity.

Over priced and very slow service, coffee was served but had to wait over 30 minutes for a sandwich and “ Burnt” chips… will not be back.

Lunch with family, food and drinks delicious, very good quality, tasted like all made on site. Really enjoyed sugar free hot chocolate, something I have not seen anywhere before. Staff very friendly and efficient, will certainly be visiting again
