Jimmie's Ice Cream Grill - Brewer

The fried clams and onion rings were overcooked. I ordered scallops, but what I received were small, round, hard balls that tasted like fish sticks. This was the worst seafood I've ever had. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, it took over 50 minutes for our food to arrive. We won't be returning, as this is now our second disappointing experience here.

I absolutely love the food, ice cream, and shakes here! I've never had to wait long for my meal, and the service is always cheerful. Plus, they offer a sugar-free, fat-free raspberry swirl ice cream, which is a fantastic treat!

What can I say?!? The food here, particularly the soft serve, is exactly what you would hope for from a fantastic roadside takeout. I prefer onion rings over French fries any day, and theirs are absolutely delicious. The flavor is incredible, and they have the ideal crunch. If you try nothing else, definitely get the soft serve—whether vanilla or chocolate, both are divine!

We thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions of the delicious hand-cut fries, followed by some of the best ice cream we've ever had. There was a fantastic variety to choose from. The two young staff members managing the busy crowd were incredibly pleasant and patient. Jimmy, I hope you pay them well—they're worth their weight in gold!

Be sure to try the homemade fries! Jimmies offers delicious ice cream and friendly service, which is what you’d expect in Downeast Maine. The big secret here is their fresh-cut French fries. Just give me one of their cheeseburgers with relish and a large order of those fries, and I’m in food heaven! Everything here is top-notch, and I appreciate the consistency over the years.
