I had the worst fish and chips I've ever encountered at this restaurant. They shouldn't be allowed to serve such dreadful food to the public—I'd hesitate to even feed it to a dog! The food was cooked in extremely dirty oil, which was the dominant taste. The fish batter was rock hard and so greasy that it was practically dripping. The chips were equally disappointing, also cooked in that same dirty oil, and the fish seemed at least a week old! Given the seaside location, I expected fresh and flavorful food, not this unpleasant experience. I ended up throwing it away and going to a different place. I’m only giving it one star because I have to in order to submit this review.

Without a doubt, this is the best spot for an amazing meal! The service is excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. During my week-long holiday in Westbay, I dined at the Ships Galley every night! It became so routine that the staff would know what I wanted as soon as I walked in. The Ships Galley is the top place in the southwest for jacket potatoes, and I ended up enjoying two at a time! I absolutely loved them! Meal type: Dinner.

Absolutely amazing service and top quality food. Me and my husband came to West Bay for the first time and stopped of at (ships galley) . The food was Delicious, service was top notch . My husband had Fish and Chips and said it's the best fish he's had by far . I had a portion of chips with Irish Curry sauce. Definitely worth a visit again soon. Thank you. Service: Take out
