Bidra med feedbackSoi 9 west end is without a doubt our favourite restaurant on this strip, we eat out quite a lot and this restaurant has surpassed our expectations of a nice place to come for a evening out or just a quick takeaway the staff are extremely friendly. BYO drinks And Food choices are to suit everyone 'be warned hot is what it says'. Also dog friendly so long as well behaved, with nice chairs and under cover footpath seating including nice gas heater for those cold nights. Value for money excellent.
In a suburb of great food and a nearby icon of Asian food the empty Soi 9 heralded our dining experience. Pleasant service lead to 3 tired mains with all the aroma of an ice cube and a bill for nearly $100 with no drinks. Literally, 30 yards away we could smell the delicious fresh aromas emanating from the vietnamese where bills are HALF. Not sure how this poor quality Thai stays in business!
We visited this restaurant with family for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is small and once a number of people are dinning it is difficult to talk and to move around. The menu although sounding traditional Thai was a great disappointment. We all (party of 9) ordered an entree and main meal and none of us finished our meals as they were poor in flavour and my Pad Thai was a ball of noodles that had to be cut to be separated. The waitresses tried really hard but had poor English and so they brought out the wrong food on two occasions as they were not sure what we had asked for. Parking is really difficult in this area which makes visits very difficult.
My wife & I have eaten at Soi 9 at least fifty times for lunch and dinner since first dining at the restaurant (a quaint little "hole in the wall" which seats only about thirty people inside, and maybe ten outside) in November 2014, and have never once had a bad meal there.Lunch specials are $10, offering a choice of chicken, pork, or vegetable stir fries (chili and basil; chili paste; cashew nut; garlic and pepper; oyster sauce) - all served with rice, as well as Pad Thai noodles, Pad See Ew noodles, and fried rice (chicken, or vegetables). The menu is extensive, and very-well-priced for the quality of food on offer.Corkage is only $2 per person if you BYO your own wine (the restaurant is not licensed). They cook their dishes "traditional Thai" style (hot and spicy) at Soi 9, which I LOVE (though my wife orders her dishes "mild"). My wife & I have been fortunate to have visited Thailand close to forty times since our first trip to the Kingdom in 1991, and have enjoyed some amazing, wonderful, and memorable Thai meals on each and every occasion we have visited the country. The Thai food we have enjoyed at Soi 9 has always been every-bit-as-good as we have experienced at any restaurant in Thailand, excluding one...Baan Rim Pa in Phuket.Service has always been friendly and efficient, especially when Pla has served us.
My favorite Thai in Brisbane. Very cozy to dine in as well. I tried the curry and my bf the pad thai. Both were delicious!
