Kensington Arms - Bristol

I was there not more than a month after fizzpodge's reviewI liked it a lotThe service was friendly but not in your face.

Popped in here on Sunday for lunch, luckily my husband new where we were going.

For those not from Bristol I'll give some brief directions, just because it's a bit out of the way.

Sunday roast has made exquisite. simply the best Sunday roast I've had for a long time. the sirloin was served pink (as it should be) the pork bell was tender on the inside and crispy skin. good portions, much sweet and roasted potato. not your most expensive, but every penny worth.

Wow. this is an amazing place to go. this pub is hidden in a corner of bristol, in a beautiful neighbourhood. the chef of the restaurant has a Michael Star restaurant and is an amazing cook. we must have the privilege to sit right next to the kitchen to see all the actions, it was very good to watch. I had the broken fish, with three cooked chips, the fish was nice and we 'll shattered and the chips were probably the best I ever had. for the starter I had the fish cake, which was very crispy and was well paired with the homemade pesto underneath, this dish served and beautifully garnished. for the other starters we had the chalk bachforellen and the saffron aranchini, both of which looked beautiful. for the other netzen we had the pan roasted sea bass, which saw and smelled fresh, they could especially say with this restaurant that all their meals were fresh/homemade, the dry aged ribeye, boiled medium rare, this came a little rarer than pleased, but with a busy night and with seconds time to cook it well, is completely understandable. to make the net, we had the black treacle and sniff glazed glammon, with eggs that were cooked again perfectly. for later we had the sticky toffee pudding that was rich and the sauce for it was perfectly sweet; the strawberry cheesecake, which was really well presented, and tasted beautiful, and finally the brownie who had nothing to blame. the atmosphere was beautiful, the location was the same, and also the facility, and feel at this gastro-pub. a must go safely! pictures below :
