Maira - Bristol, City of

This fantastic kebab restaurant is located on the bustling Fishponds Road. They offer a nice variety of dishes with generous portions. We ordered the mixed kebab to share and couldn't finish it all.

I was extremely disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. The pitta bread was stale and cold, the chicken was dry, and the lamb was so chewy that I ended up giving it to my cat. The restaurant itself was cold, and the salad was soggy. To top it off, there was no sauce or dip provided.

Downsides first. Cash only (but free ATM next door) Not licensed (but very late opening supermarket next door and no corkage charged) Very noisy music which seems have been copied badly from a radio and played loudly on a distorting sound system and a fair amount of people having noisy knees up. So saying if you know these things and like the music, this place is exceptional. The service is excellant and the staff very friendly. Extremely good value. The food is nicely presented and I can't remember eating lamb shish as good as this.

A great middle eastern restaurant! I can't reccomend this place highly enough, to highlight one thing the turkish breakfasts are such great value for money. I've never had a bad meal here and the takeaway is great too! Bear in mind this is dry (no alcohol allowed at all) but there's a great range of soft drinks.

The staff are really friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. We will definitely be going back! The lamb chops were total heaven!
